Holy Trinity Dandenong
Welcome to Holy Trinity, a small but gentle community enjoying the love of Christ and happy to bring it to life for you too!
We were formed in the 1950s by post-World War II German-speaking Lutheran migrants settling in the developing industrial town of Dandenong and other Lutherans shifting to the area for work. We are now a committed gathering of mostly older folk from various ethnicities, including migrants from South Sudan arriving from the early 2000s who also gather as the Nuer-language South Sudanese Fellowship. In 2019, we sold our church on Pickett Street due to our limited ability to manage it and now worship in the Marian Room of the St Mary’s Community Centre, 24 New Street, Dandenong.
The things that matter to us most
- Weekly worship
- The Christian faith based on the Bible
- Sound Lutheran teaching and practice under the ministry of a pastor
- Supporting each other
- South Sudanese participation and engagement
Ways we try to put this into practice
- Gathering for weekly worship
- Loving one another as Christ loves us, including by caring for each other and making ourselves known to others
- Including South Sudanese Fellowship members in our worship
- Renting premises for worship, and finding other places as needed
- Participating in the Moorabbin–Dandenong congregation including by contributing to its leadership and finances
